Mitre Ultimax
The Brief
Mitre, a storied British maker of footballs since 1817, is famed for craftsmanship and iconic match balls. I was tasked with creating three bold, nostalgic pieces for an Ultimax campaign, blending vibrant palette and retro footballing memory to echo Mitre’s heritage. My work emphasised tactile texture, dynamic motion and brand colours to create striking social media assets that honour Mitre’s legacy while delivering modern, attention-grabbing visuals for digital audiences.
The Idea
I really wanted to use some of the forms and shapes from the ball design to translate through to the artwork itself. The client asked that the three main technologies that feature in the ball were presented across all 3 illustrations which really made me think about the sport and the actions within. I also wanted the three images to work independently and alongside one another, like a sequence within a game. I really enjoyed the exploration phase of this project.
